Cilantro Avocado Toast
Avocado toast is a heart healthy, fiber rich, satisfying choice for breakfast! From the buttery avocados to the fresh cilantro, this recipe is simple, quick, and full of flavor. In moderation, avocados are a great source of vitamins, antioxidants, and healthy fats. They are mostly made up of unsaturated fats which lower blood pressure and help protect against heart disease. These healthy fats, along with the high fiber content from the avocado and the chia seeds, will keep you feeling full and satisfied for longer. That is what makes this a great choice for breakfast. While there are tons of different ways to customize your avocado toast, this recipe is simple, fast, and my favorite way to eat it! Avocado toast is not just a trend, it’s a nutritious and satisfying meal!

Cilantro Avocado Toast
Ingredients
- 1 slice multi-grain bread
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 green onion
- 2 tbsp cilantro (roughly 10 leaves)
- 1/4 tsp chia seeds
- Red pepper flakes
- Salt
Instructions
- Start by toasting your bread. While the bread is toasting, slice the green onion into small pieces.
- Once the bread is toasted, take half an avocado and slice it into long slices and place on toast. I usually find it easiest to take a spoon and start at the edge, scooping small slices out all the way across.
- Next, sprinkle the avocado with salt, red pepper flakes, and chia seeds.
- Then top with the green onion and cilantro and enjoy!
